You want your players to have both hands out, knees bent (not bent on their backs!), And head. This is the correct posture, and you must be militant about making sure the defense always has this posture. Also, players must slide on the floor to keep the ball and the player in front of them instead of chasing the man with the ball. In this exercise, use cones to mark the area 8-12 feet wide and at least 30 feet long.
One of the players in this exercise will have a ball and the other will practice defensive slide. The player with the ball will lead until he hit the left side, then dribble right, until he hit the other boundary. The goal is to force the defensive player offensive player to go all the way to the sideline without fouling or losing position. It would make such a zig-zag pattern and will help with the defensive and sliding.
Line Sprint – All players lined up at the base line on one side of the court. In this exercise, players will run continuously from the base line and then to the free throw line, returned to baseline, with a line of half-court, returned to baseline, across the free-throw line, returned to baseline, then all the way to the tip court and back.
So, the players will not stop running until they are finished will each row and then come back. At the sound of the whistle players will start to go from line to line. The catch is that they must touch the ground with their hands in each row. So when they start and run to the free throw line, they hit the ground. As they walked back to the base line, they hit the ground again. This process will continue until they are finished.
Basic Lay-up Drill
If you can teach your team how to make a basic lay-up with his left hand and their right, you’ll do what many youth basketball coaches do not do. Therefore, this should be one of the youth basketball drills that you run every workout. In this exercise, you will divide the players into two lines at the halfway mark court on the left and right of the circle.
The left side will be the line rebound, and the right side will be the lay-up line. The first child will have a ball and dribble as fast as possible (without the ball will fly!) Into the circle, jumping from his left leg and shoot a lay-up with his right hand. Rebounder in the left lane to rebound the ball and pass it to the next child in line (probably accelerate to use two or three balls). Once this is done, then you switch to the left lane into the lay-up line and the right will be a rebound line.
Fast Break Lay-up Drill
Once again, most of the points you will be off from the lay-up, so if you can optimize this exercise, you will lead the effective season. Like the previous drill, you will start with the right hand and then switch to the left hand. To save time, you can be divided into two groups that will be on opposite sides of the court.
